Market Raperda Obligates Shopping Center to Provide Spaces for UMKM

City Council's Local Regulation Forming Agency (Bapemperda) held regulation draft meeting again regarding market matter with related SKPDs.

So, we are agree that 20 percent of effective floor in each shopping centers to be provided for UMKM

In the meeting, it is agreed that obligation for all shopping centers in Jakarta to provide 20 percent of business space for small medium enterprise(UMKM)s to be regulated in draft regulation (raperda).

"So, we are agree that 20 percent of effective floor in each shopping centers to be provided for UMKM," said Bestari Barus, Member of City Council's Bapemperda, Wednesday (9/6).

Council will Monitor Market Condition on The Field

He explained, this provision is regulated in raperda's article 45 about market. It is mentioned that each shopping center management is responsible to empower UMKM and small medium industry (IKM) through partnership pattern.

In the same place, Jakarta Economy Bureau Head, Sri Haryati agreed that the obligation is being regulated again in market raperda. Shopping center management mentioned consists of mall, supermarket, hypermarket, and others.

"Because we want to give UMKM a chance to develop its business," she closed.
